Barbecuing Ribs

I can’t believe this wasn’t up already, its time to record this for the new season!

Barbecue Ribs

Ingredients

Dry Rub:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp chili powder

Method

  1. Cut ribs into 6″ long strips
  2. Remove the outer membrane from the ribs
  3. Cover ribs in dry rub
  4. Heat bbq to 225F
  5. Place on the side opposite the burner – indirect heat only, with a drip pan underneath (use wood chips for flavour if desired)

Cook to an internal temperature of 200F, probably 3 – 4 hours. Last time we tried this the grill ended up at 295F and it took 2 1/2 hours.

Optionally, cook until there is a crust around them, then wrap in foil for the rest of the time; this is supposed to make them more tender.

Did you have ribs while I was away?

No ribs while you were gone, I wouldn’t do that to you :) However, I wanted to ensure the recipe was saved in case we decided we wanted to bbq ribs sometime in the near future…
