You got up that faster than I could have in a car. At a heart rate of 170 bpm, I would have fallen off the bike before the first hill. Sounds like you did well considering you beat your best time. I look forward to seeing the new gearing for your bike.

Something here is not fair. While I sat home with Punky, you were looking at beautiful views of Los Angeles . While I spent the afternoons lovingly reading to your poor puppy, you were looking at blue sky and sun. I read to him for hours to ensure his vocabulary would develop, and I think I taught him some new words (every time he jumped on me I furthered his oral vocabulary development) while you were looking for beaches to visit. Lets ask Punky who loves him most.

The concept of a 'hyperlink' has really altered the process of writing. When reading a book containing a bibliography, I tend to ignor the bibliography given that I can't access the references in any reasonable manner. But I can access a 'hyperlink' while reading, and form my own opinion rather than relying on the writer's opinion. Thus, by the end of the writing I may or may not agree with the author's hypothesis based on my own interpretation of the references. To me, this is a significant change in the writing process. And I like it.

I have watched a few of the old shows (which I think hold up well over time). When the i-pad was introduced I chuckled because of the connection between the device used on the show and new i-pad. Look at the original show, and their communicator in relation to our cell phones. Now I am wondering what next will leap from the Star Trek screen to reality.

Definitely it's something I want to think about too - I was quite amazed by how different this image turned out than what I normally would have taken in this situation. The next step is to combine f/stop depth-of-field with this - of course that's another adventure, when you look at the effect focal length has on depth of field. I've got some other examples from this photo walk that demonstrate that (how did we survive without exif data? Could you imagine carrying a notebook to write all this down? * )

* P.S. I just realized I still have some Kodak 400 ISO film in the freezer ... what the heck am I going to do with that? I'm wondering if I should pull the Pentax out just to see what happens.

Neat concept. I have also viewed a telephoto lens as magnification. And looked at f-stop as a means of deepening or flattening an image. I like what you captured in the picture and will experiment with it myself.

P.S. There is still significant controversy and questions about whether or no this is actually true, but remember - it must be. I read it on the internet, and I'm sure there's already a wikipedia page.

Heh, well if you call pushing the gas pedal on Mazda pedaling :). He actually chased us in the car so he could get up ahead.

Mind you, I don't blame him - that 70-200 f/2.8 might have weighed more than our bikes!

Interesting - I hadn't seen that one yet. I might try to play with it a bit - last time I tried an online GTD system I only had an iPod Touch, so the online/offline aspects were frustrating, but with the iphone that might be better.

Apple is the darling of the market now and it knows the market better than any other companies in this world. It established its reputation by constantly delivering great products that the market are willing to pay. The success of Apple is not only about its technology but the profound understanding of the market. What I learned from my pragmatic product management training is that Apple did the following two things that largely contributed to the iPhone's success:
1. reduced below the industry standard - iPhone don't have everything a smart phone has.
2. increased over the industry standard - iPhone has something that other smart phones do not have
3. eliminate unnecessary features
4. offer new - the new is not only the new technology, it could be a new user experience and new packaging and delivery method.

Apparently these strategies are not something now and they are well captured in the book "Blue Ocean Strategy". I need to read the book.
